Abstract:
We present the results of a study of the population of compact submm
cores in Vela C, one of the molecular clouds making up the Vela
Molecular Ridge, a nearby (∼700pc) star forming region in the
Galactic plane. A large scale map of dust emission at 345GHz was
obtained with LABOCA at the APEX telescope. Core retrieval and
photometry were performed with the algorithms CuTEx and CLUMPFIND.
Table 1 lists the sources retrieved by CuTEx. Table 2 lists the
sources retrieved by CLUMPFIND.
Description:
Table 1 lists position, size (not deconvolved for beam size), position
angle, peak flux density, integrated flux density, and error on the
integrated flux density for the submm sources retrieved by CuTEx
(Molinari at al., 2011A&A...530A.133M 2011A&A...530A.133M). The sources have been
subdivided into starless cores associated with Vela C, protostellar
cores associated with Vela C, and compact cores associated with the
HII region RCW 34. CuTEx estimates source fluxes by fitting 2D
Gaussian functions plus a plane to the sources, so isocontours are
ellipses. For each source, the Full Widths at Half Maximum (FWHMs, in
arcsec) along the two ellipse axis are given. The ellipse position
angle (in degrees) is also given, measured counterclockwise from North
to the first ellipse axis (labelled Ell1 in the table).
Table 2 lists position, size (not deconvolved for beam size), peak
flux density, integrated flux density, and error on the integrated
flux density for the submm sources retrieved by CLUMPFIND (Williams at
al., 1994ApJ...428..693W 1994ApJ...428..693W). The sources have been subdivided into
compact cores associated with Vela C, compact cores associated with
RCW 34, and compact cores with estimated size smaller than the beam
size. Source size is given as the FWHM of the flux density spatial
distribution along axis X and Y.
