We have high-quality multicolor imaging data for all 503 X-ray point sources in the X-ray-selected catalog and reliable spectroscopic redshifts for 284. We spectroscopically identify six high-redshift (z>1) type II quasars (L2-8keV>1044ergs/s) in our sample. Our spectroscopic completeness for the R≤24 sources is 87%. The spectroscopic redshift distribution shows two broad redshift spikes that have clearly grown over those originally seen in the 1Ms exposure. The spectroscopically identified extragalactic sources already comprise 75% of the measured 2-8keV light. Redshift slices versus 2-8keV flux show that an impressive 54% of the measured 2-8keV light arises from sources at z<1 and 68% from sources at z<2. Description: The X-ray sample is presented in Alexander et al., 2003, Cat. J/AJ/126/539. The optical imaging data consist of Johnson B, Johnson V, Cousins R, Cousins I, and Sloan z' observations obtained with the Subaru prime-focus camera Suprime-Cam on the Subaru 8.2m telescope during February-April of 2001 and 2002. Note (2): In the AB magnitude system. An AB magnitude is defined by mAB=-2.5log(fν)-48.60, where fν is the flux of the source in units of ergs/cm2/s/Hz. Note (3): Note on spectroscopic redshift as follows: o = Spectrum was obtained but no identification could be made; s = Star. Note (4): Spectrum type as follows: B = Spectrum has broad emission lines s = Less secure redshift identification based primarily on a single emission line and the continuum shape c = Redshift taken from Cohen et al., 2000, Cat. J/ApJ/538/29 m = Complex or multiple structure or possible contamination of the photometry by a nearby brighter object Note (5): Sources that had a negative flux in the aperture are listed with a negative magnitude; in these cases, the absolute value of the magnitude was computed from the absolute value of the flux. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nomenclature note: [ABB2003] CDFN NNN = CXOHDFN JHHMMSS.s+DDMMSS History: From electronic version of the journal
