We report J-, H-, and K'-band photometry in the clusters AFGL437, AFGL5180, and AFGL5142, and use these results to probe the stellar populations, extinction, and ages of the clusters. Description: The clusters were observed between 2003 December 8 and 2003 December 13 using the NIRIM camera on the WIYN 3.5m telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory. All clusters were observed in broad-band J (1.2um), H (1.65um), and K' (2.12um) filters. Note (2): as determined by location in J-H v. H-K' color-color diagrams, as follows: F = lies along reddening vectors from unreddened main-sequence and giant stars. May be a reddened background, foreground, and cluster star T = T-Tauri star as determined using models that predict NIR emission from dust in the disk around T-Taur stars (Meyer et al., 1997AJ....114..288M 1997AJ....114..288M) P = IR excess larger than can be caused by interstellar extinction towards a main sequence or T-Tauri star, implying circumstellar envelops and/or disks indicative of protostars UP = unphysical, that is bluer than the reddened main sequence band -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: From electronic version of the journal
