Abstract:
We present the first estimates of the relative and absolute parameters
of the eclipsing binary EQ Boo based on a light-curve analysis
(P=5.43d, V=8.8m). This star is simultaneously Component A of the
visual binary ADS 9422 (spectral types F7V + G0V; separation of the
components 1.3"; magnitude difference 0.7m). The derived disagreement
between the components' physical parameters and the assumption that
they have the same age can be removed if there is a fourth, late-type
star in the system. This is also able to explain the observed anomaly
in the behavior of the O-C residuals at times of minima.
Description:
We observed the star on 11 nights in 2007-2010 at the Zvenigorod
Observatory of the Institute of Astronomy (Russian Academy of
Sciences) near Moscow (a Zeiss-600 telescope with a UBV photometer
designed by Volkov, with an EMI-9789 photomultiplier); at the Crimean
Astrophysical Observatory at Mt. Koshka (Crimea, Ukraine; a Zeiss- 600
telescope and a UBVRI photometer with an Ap-47p CCD chip or a
Zeiss-600 telescope and a UBV RI photometer with a VersArray 512UV CCD
chip); and at the Stara Lesna Observatory of the Slovak Academy of
Sciences (Slovakia; a Zeiss-600 telescope and a UBVR photometer with
a Hamamatsu R 2949S photomultiplier). We studied the instrumental
photometric systems of all these instruments, which were all found to
be close to the standard Johnson UBVRI system, and reduced all our
measurements to this system.
