Eight variable stars were discovered. Of six other stars in the observed field that were suspected for variability, we confirm variability of two, including one beta Cep star, NGC 1502-26. The remaining four suspects were found to be constant in our photometry. In addition, UBVIc photometry of the well-known massive eclipsing binary SZ Cam was obtained. Description: All observations of NGC 1502 were carried out at Bialkow, a station of University of Wroclaw, with a 60-cm Cassegrain telescope. During the first observing run, we acquired observations on 22 nights between August 22, 2004 and April 20, 2005. The first one is calculated as an r.m.s. error of a mean of differential magnitudes and does not include the errors of the transformation to the standard system. Because differential magnitudes were calculated with W30 as a comparison star, this error for W30 equals to zero. Note that these errors show the internal precision of our photometry. The other error includes the errors of the transformation coefficients. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: lc/* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 10 F10.5 d HJD Heliocentric Julian Day, (HJD-2453000) 12- 18 F7.4 mag Dmag Differential magnitude 21- 26 F6.4 mag e_Dmag Error of magnitude (as calculated by Daophot) 29- 33 F5.3 --- airM Air mass 35- 37 I3 --- Navg ?
