Cousins VRI Photometry and Temperatures and V-K Photometry for stars in open cluster. Taylor B.J., Joner M.D., Jeffery E.D. <Astrophys. J. Suppl. Ser. 176, 262 (2008)> =2008ApJS..176..262T 2008ApJS..176..262T
ADC_Keywords: Clusters, open ; Effective temperatures; Photometry, Cousins Keywords: Hertzsprung-Russell diagram - open clusters and associations: individual (Coma, Hyades, M67, NGC 752, Praesepe) - stars: fundamental parameters Abstract: In this paper, new Cousins VRI data are presented for NGC 752 and Praesepe, and new and extant data are combined into an augmented database for M67. For those three clusters, catalogs containing Cousins VRI photometry, reddening-corrected values of (V-K)J, and temperatures are produced. The same is done for Coma by using both previously published and newly derived Cousins photometry. An extant set of catalogs for the Hyades is updated to include V magnitudes and values of (R-I)C that were published after the original catalogs appeared. Finally, M67 V magnitudes published previously by Sandquist are corrected for an effect that depends on location on the face of the cluster. The corrected data and values of (V-I)C given by Sandquist are then set out in a supplementary catalog. The V magnitudes in this file have been corrected for a position-dependent systematic effect. No corrections have been applied to the V-I data. In addition, no reddening or absorption corrections have been applied. Note on hyades3.dat: For wavelengths near 5500Å, each listed value of T(color) represents the effective temperature of a single star with the same short-wavelength color indices as those of the binary. For wavelengths near 7000Å, similar reasoning applies, with long-wavelength color indices being considered. Note on coma01.dat: The original source of these data is Taylor & Joner, 1985AJ.....90..479T 1985AJ.....90..479T. Note on coma02.dat: The V and V-K values have not been corrected for reddening because Coma is unreddened (see Taylor, 2006AJ....132.2453T 2006AJ....132.2453T). Note on m6701.dat: The entries in the file supersede all extant M67 data bases published previously by Joner & Taylor (see the new paper for a list of sources of the superseded data). Note on m6702.dat: The value of E(B-V) used to correct the V and V-K data to unreddened status is 41mmag (see Taylor, 2007AJ....133..370T 2007AJ....133..370T; the standard error of E(B-V) quoted there is 4mmag). Note on ngc75202.dat: The V and V-K values have been corrected for a reddening value E(B-V) of 44mmag (see Taylor, 2007AJ....134..934T 2007AJ....134..934T; the standard error of E(B-V) is 3.4mmag). Note on prsp02.dat: The V and V-K values have been corrected for a reddening value E(B-V) of 27mmag (see Taylor, 2006AJ....132.2453T 2006AJ....132.2453T; the standard error of E(B-V) is 4mmag). Note on hyades1.dat: For each value of R-I, the rms error is 4.3mmag or less, and a consistency check of data from at least two sources has been performed. Note on hyades2.dat: For some listed values of R-I and V-K, only one source datum is available. For the remainder, the standard error for R-I is greater than 4.3mmag. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- See also: II/118 : UBVRI standards around Celestial Equator (Landolt 1983) II/183 : UBVRI Photometric Standards (Landolt 1992) Byte-by-byte Description of file: coma01.dat m6701.dat ngc75201.dat prsp01.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2- 5 I4 --- WEBDA WEBDA number 7- 13 A7 --- OName Alternate designation (1) 14 A1 --- Bin "B" for binary, blank otherwise 15- 21 F7.3 mag Vmag V magnitude (2) 22- 26 F5.1 mmag e_Vmag V standard error 27- 33 F7.3 mag V-Rc Cousins/Landolt V-R (2) 34- 38 F5.1 mmag e_V-Rc Cousins/Landolt V-R standard error 39- 45 F7.3 mag Rc-Ic Cousins R-I (2) 46- 50 F5.1 mmag e_Rc-Ic Cousins R-I standard error -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note (1): Klein-Wassink (KW) designation for ngc75201.dat and prsp01.dat Note (2): No reddening or absorption corrections have been applied to the data.
