ADC_Keywords: Galaxies, photometry ; Redshifts Abstract: Using the fibre optic coupler at the Anglo-Australian Observatory, we have completed a new faint galaxy redshift survey. Intermediate dispersion spectra with resolution ∼4Å have been gathered for over 200 field galaxies selected in apparent magnitude slices between 20.0<bJ<21.5mag in five high-latitude fields. Redshift completeness is 85% and the mean redshift agrees well from field to field. Description: Spectroscopic observations were made using the FOCAP fibre-optic multi-object coupler at the AAT during 6 clear nights out of 10 allocated to the proect during 1985-August, 1985-November, and 1986-August. The fibres have a diameter of 2.67arcsec and feed the RGO spectrograph equipped with a 66Å/mm grating in the wavelength range 3850-6050Å for a resolution of 4Å. Fibers were also fed to the FOS (Faint Object Read Spectrograph), covering the wavelength range 5000-10000Å with a resolution of 15Å.
