Abstract:
We have obtained optical multicolour (UBVRI) linear polarimetric data
for 46 of the brightest stars in the area of the open cluster NGC 6124
in order to investigate the properties of the interstellar medium
(ISM) that lies along the line of sight towards the cluster.
Description:
The linear optical polarimetry was obtained during several observing
runs at the CASLEO in San Juan, Argentina, during 2003-2007.
The Torino five-channel photopolarimeter was used on the 2.15-m
telescope. All observations were obtained simultaneously through the
five Johnson-Cousins broad-band UBVRI filters centred at
λUeff=0.360um, λBeff=0.440um, λVeff=0.530um,
λReff=0.690um and λIeff=0.830um.
