High quality maps, covering an area of 0.44 square degrees, are produced and then used to derive new candidate source lists. A rigorous quality control pipeline has been used to create final legacy catalogues in the PACS Green 100um and Red 160um bands, containing 1385 and 630 sources respectively. These catalogues reach to more than twice the depth of the current archival Herschel/PACS Point Source Catalogue detecting 401 and 270 more sources in the short and long wavelength bands respectively. These counts have been used to construct galaxy source counts that extend down to flux densities of 6mJy and 19mJy (50% completeness) in the Green 100 micron and Red 160 micron bands respectively. These source counts are consistent with previously published PACS number counts in other fields across the sky. The source counts have been compared with galaxy evolution models identifying a population of luminous infrared galaxies as responsible for the bulk of the galaxy evolution over the flux range (5-100mJy) spanned by the observed counts, contributing approximate fractions of 50% and 60% to the cosmic infrared background (CIRB) at 100um and 160um respectively. Description: The Herschel PACS survey at the North Ecliptic Pole within the AKARI NEP Deep Field. was part of an Open Time 2 programme (OT2sserje012). The PACS observations were made as a set of 10 nominal and orthogonal direction scan-map AOR (Astronomy Observation Request) pairs of 40-arcmin scan leg length and 20-arcsec/s scan speed. Observations were made simultaneously in the Green (100um) and Red (160um) bands. Each individual AOR contained four repetitions of the map resulting in estimated HSpot 3σ instrumental noise sensitivities of 4.59mJy and 8.73mJy at 100-microns and 160-microns respectively. The PACS observations were taken on consecutive Herschel Operational Days, 1440-1443 (22-26 April 2013, only 3 days before Herschel's "End of Life" on 29th April 2013). The PACS observations cover approximately 0.44 square degrees overlapping with the majority of the AKARI NEP-Deep survey area. Source extraction from the PACS maps is made using the SUSSEXtractor task within the Herschel HIPE processing environment. Source photometry is made with annular aperture photometry assuming asource annulus, inner annulus, outer annulus equal to 6-arcsec, 15-arcsec, 20-arcsec for the PACS Green 100um band and 10.5-arcsec, 15-arcsec, 20-arcsec for the PACS Red 160um band. The aperture photometry task automatically selects the appropriate aperture correction for the pipeline calibration (PACS FM7 response calibration file). The task also calculates realistic errors for the aperture photometry by laying down a series of apertures around but offset from the source position.
