ADC_Keywords: Stars, variable; Magnitudes, absolute; Proper motions Abstract: The method of statistical parallaxes is applied to a sample of 262 Rrab RR Lyr type variables with published photoelectric photometry, radial velocities, abundances and with known absolute proper motions. The proper motions are adopted from the Hipparcos, PPM, NPM1, and the Four-Million Catalog (Volchkov et al. 1992, Ed. by A.P.Gulyaev and V.V. Nesterov, Mosk. Gos. Univ., Moscow, p. 67) and in the case the last three catalogs are reduced to the Hipparcos system. The parameters of the velocity distribution of halo (U0, V0, W0) = ( -9±12, -214±10, -16±7) km/s and thick-disk (U0, V0, W0) = (-16±8, -41±7, -18±5) km/s RR Lyrae subsamples are inferred as well as the intensity-averaged absolute magnitudes of the corresponding populations: = 0.77±0.10 and = +1.11±0.28 for halo and thickdisk objects, respectively. Individual notes: The following stars were removed from the initial sample: XZ CET: Fourier Coefficient R(21) is unusual - Anom. Ceph (Fernley+, 1998A&A...330..515F 1998A&A...330..515F) BX DRA: Ecl. Var. (Schmidt et al., 1995AJ..109.1239S) (Fernley+, 1998A&A...330..515F 1998A&A...330..515F) AR SER: Fourier Coefficient R(21) is unusual - Anom. Ceph (Fernley+, 1998A&A...330..515F 1998A&A...330..515F) BB VIR: Photometric evidence for HB Companion (Fernley, 1993Obs...113..197F 1993Obs...113..197F) Although ET Hya has constant radial velocity from spectra and constant V mag from HIPPARCOS according to Fernley and Barnes (1997A&AS..125..313F 1997A&AS..125..313F), this is in conflict with the results of all other authors. The star must be misidentified in the HIPPARCOS input catalog and therefore we do not use the HIPPARCOS data for it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
