Catalogue of identifications, velocities, spectral types and UBV photometry of Large Magellanic Cloud stars. Duflot M. =2010yCat.5131....0D 2010yCat.5131....0D
ADC_Keywords: Magellanic Clouds ; MK spectral classification ; Photometry, UBV ; Radial velocities ; Cross identifications Description: This catalogue is a compilation of the original data related to stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC); it concerns essentially the stars brighter than mpg=13.5. The list includes many comments (in English and French) about errors, identification problems, or membership of 4011 stars. File Summary: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FileName Lrecl Records Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ReadMe 80 . The first line of a paragraph contains the HD number; the second line (labelled CDS2000) contains the fundamental data extracted from Simbad (in 2005). Each of the lines following are, either a comment (lines having "Com" or "Rem" in bytes 5-8), or data formatted in columns: * bytes 5-15: identifier (see the "Acronyms used" section above) * bytes 16-35: coordinates, at the Equinox specified in the "Acronyms used" section below * bytes 36-59: photometry, made of V, B-V, U-B, and number of photometric measurements * bytes 60-68: MK or HD spectral type * bytes 69-80: radial velocity with quality and number of measurements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- See also: III/113 : Deep Objective-Prism Survey for LMC Members (Sanduleak 1970) III/147 : Studies of LMC stellar content (Rousseau+ 1978) III/192 : Radial Velocities measured at PPO by Fehrenbach (Fehrenbach+ 1996) Byte-by-byte Description of file: main.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 4 I04 --- ID Sequential number 6- 9 A4 --- Rem [Mg!#+& ] Remarks (1) 13- 22 A10 --- Name Main name of the star (see also names.dat) 26- 27 I2 h RAh ? the photometry may be of 2 sources: one from the objective prism (PO), and the second from an author indicated by a letter. In this case, there are 2 lines in the "lmc.txt" file, as "ROU " or "ROU&" (2) in Rousseau et al. catalog (1978A&AS...31..243R 1978A&AS...31..243R) some stars are introduced for the first time, and are named with their truncated coordinates, e.g. 0536-6841, as found later in Massey (2002ApJS..141...81M 2002ApJS..141...81M) (3) acronyms not followed by an asterisk (*) are not numbered in the quoted publication, but identifications from a previous publication are used.
