Abstract:
The catalogue of the Geneva photometric boxes (or Golay's boxes) is
announced.
Introduction:
The Geneva photometric boxes, or Golay's boxes, are based on the
Geneva 7-colour photometry contained in Rufener's 3rd Catalogue
(Cat. II/72).
For a given star S measured in the Geneva photometry, the strict
[0.01] box is the set of stars S' whose colours are all equal to those
of S within 0.01mag; S is called the central star, and the S' are the
member stars of the [0.01] box of S. Only the boxes containing at
least 2 elements (including S) are considered.
Other definitions of the photometric boxes are used. For instance, the
"0.01" box of S contains the stars S' having |dU|=|U(S)-U(S')≤0.02,
and all other colours |dV|, |dB1|, |dB2|, |dV1| and |dG| all ≤0.01.
Photometric boxes can also be defined from other colour indices
(reddening-free), or with elliptical shapes. See the definitions
used here in the "Note (G2)" section below.

Gloval Notes:
Note (G1): the "Geneva Identifier" is made from star designation
in a hierarchy of catalogs (HD, Durchmusterungen, etc), see
details in the Table I of the paper
Note (G2): the "belonging code" contains 4 characters expressing
in which definition the member star is associated to the star
defining the photometric box:
A = strict [0.01] box, i.e. the member star has all 6 colors
U-B B1-B B2-B V-B V1-B G-B differing by at most 0.01mag
(|dC|≤0.01)
B = "0.01" box, i.e. the member star has |d(U-B)|≤0.02 and
the 5 other colors differing by at most 0.01mag
I = 0.012-0.009 4-colour boxes: |d(U-B1)|≤0.012, and the 3
other color indices |d(B1-B2)|, |d(B2-V1)| and |d(V1-G)|
differ by ≤0.009
J = 0.016-0.012 4-colour boxes: |d(U-B1)|≤0.016, and the 3
other color indices |d(B1-B2)|, |d(B2-V1)| and |d(V1-G)|
differ by ≤0.012
K = 0.010 elliptical 4-colour indices U-B1, B1-B2, B2-V1, V1-G
L = 0.015 elliptical 4-colour indices U-B1, B1-B2, B2-V1, V1-G
D = 0.008 elliptical (d Δ g) reddening-free indices:
d=(U-B1)-1.430(B1-B2), Δ=(U-B2)-0.832(B2-G),
g=(B1-B2)-1.357(V1-G)
E = 0.012 elliptical (d Δ g) reddening-free indices
