ADC_Keywords: Galaxy catalogs Description: The catalog of isolated galaxies is defined on the basis of the Palomar Sky Survey. It contains 1051 isolated galaxies with apparent magnitudes brighter than 15.7 and north of declination -3°. Compared to the original version published in 1973 (Comm. Special Astrophys. Obs. of USSR, No. 8), new data about the morphological types, the isolation class, and the radial velocities have been added. The catalog includes running numbers for the galaxies, equatorial coordinates, isolation classes, apparent magnitudes, morphological types, major axes, axial ratios, and radial velocities. The original tape consisted of two text files, one containing the catalog data and another containing a short explanation of the catalog fields and the list of radial velocity source references. The only change made to the catalog file was to delete blank columns to reduce the record size from 65 to 52 bytes. Acknowledgements: The original ADC documentation by Anne C. Raugh (1987) was used to create this ReadMe file. References: Karachentseva, V. E., Lebedev, V. S., and Shcherbanovskij, A.
