Water vapour masers in long-period variable stars. II. The semi-regular variables R Crt and RT Vir. (2020)

Keywords : stars AGB and post-AGB - masers

Abstract:Water masers emitting at a radiofrequency of 22GHz are often found in the circumstellar envelopes of evolved stars. We monitored the H_2_O maser emission of a larger sample of evolved stars of different types to study the maser properties as a function of stellar type. We wish to understand the origin and evolution of the H_2_O masers in circumstellar envelopes. In this paper, we take a closer look at R Crt and RT Vir, two nearby (<250pc) semi-regular variable stars. The findings complement our monitoring results for RX Boo and SV Peg, two other semi-regular variable stars that we have discussed in a previous paper. ...(more)
Abstract: (hide)
The FITS files are the spectra of the 22GHz water maser emission of R Crt and RT Vir as shown in Figs. 13 and 14 in the paper. Flux density versus Vlos (or frequency). The observations were made with the 32-m Medicina antenna and the 100-m telescope at Effelsberg. The spectra were originally in CLASS-format and were transformed to FITS via the command 'fits write name.fits /mode spectrum' in CLASS. CLASS is part of the Grenoble GILDAS software package. The file names consist of the name of the star, followed by a running number, and finally by the TJD (truncated Julian Date, TJD=JD-2440000.5).
